Xinyan Fu

Audience Development Associate

Xinyan is an audience strategist and an interactive designer. In the past, she worked as a social media producer at The Markup and Fortune. She is also working on completing her Master of Information degree at the University of Toronto. Xinyan started her career as a multimedia journalist. Her passion for interactive storytelling has led her to documentary production and audience engagement. In 2022, she created a multimedia project that includes a 16-minute documentary, which was selected for the Boston Asian American Film Festival’s 2022 centrepiece screening. She also enjoys producing feminist content. Back in 2020, Xinyan founded an online media platform for all things feminism called JIEMEN. The publication currently has over 15,000 subscribers. When Xinyan is not working, she loves reading, cooking, and making origami art. She is an avid video game player and a soccer enthusiast. She is also a proud Nintendo Switch owner and her favorite game is the Cube Escape series.
