Kimberly Tran

Data Science for Social Good Fellow

Kim is a DSSG research fellow at the University of British Columbia’s Data Science Institute. She is passionate about interdisciplinary applications of technology and aims to develop software to create equitable opportunities and positive social impact. As a research fellow, she is working towards making IJF’s data more accessible by building a RAG-LLM for the Open By Default dataset. In her previous role as a software engineering intern at Optum, she helped deliver solutions for radiology systems used in hospitals around the globe.
